This semester, I worked on a photo story with the East Oakland Boxing Association(EOBA), a program that provides boxing lessons and after school care to under-served children in one of the most violent parts of the bay area. The boxing lessons help teach students about self discipline and give them a way to protect themselves. EOBA also provides tutoring, cooking classes and a safe place to play for students who don’t box.

So I recently shot some portraits of my fellow editors at the San Francisco Foghorn, where I serve as Photography Editor. The goal of each portrait was to reflect everyone’s personality and I’m extremely pleased with how these photos came out.

More children’s portraits

So, I’m thinking of expanding into children’s photography. There’s a really good market for it in San Francisco. Thoughts? I’ll post more examples soon.
